there are 8 places on that map where it can spawn and you need some skill to spot it. I think search or spot along those lines. INT based to be sure.
the cantrip puzzle. the reward is an extra token to allow you to get a robe of elemental resistance.
I just sell either reward though. if you aren't a spell user you aren't going to be walking around in robes most likely.
As for the extra token, yeah, but that's gold I can spend later on stuff like attribute boosters or magic armor/shield/weapon. Thus I'm interested in landing it if I can.
The guide said he couldn't manage it with a paladin and could with a ranger, but I'm reasonable sure its a spot check, and using the console to mod your INT to 200 should make you pass what ever skill check it is to prove the function.
the extra money thing, see I played thru as a fighter/bard/RDD so I had high appraise come act 2 and the oasis where you buy the boots of the shifting sands and had plenty of money at that point.
I also robbed the dead and other things in part one so I could buy the various items in act 1, mainly the scabbard of blessing, brooch of shielding and was there something else?
I nearly bankrupted my character toward the end because I saw an item in the shop in part 3 that allows you to break magical items to charge other magical items, which I thought would be really good in HotU to recharge the rod of ressurection to farm killing Deekin for stupid amounts of XP.
but the djinni in HotU actually sells one making my money in SoU a silly thing to invest on.
anyways aside from the scabbard of blessing, the brooch of shielding and the boots of the shifting sands what are you buying in SoU?
