Uranium???
After having a chance to play with all 3 new base defense types / resource production machines, I'm actually fine with the drill and the chemical lab and the corresponding resources (phosphorous / ethanol) although I think the recipes that use them should have the amounts seriously re-balanced.

But the furnace - are you devs serious? The patch notes stated you could use low tier materials - even specifically mentioned steel as an example - and choose the high tier output material, but it doesn't work like that at all! You have to load it full of tungsten or uranium, etc to get the corresponding refined material. So I loaded it up with 100 tungsten and defeated the enemies - it was difficult to vent the pressure fast enough and maybe that was the issue but at the end I had 10 refined tungsten, 1 slag and about 20 (iirc) tungsten left over - so it cost me 80 tungsten to make 10 refined?

So if it's the same for uranium, that's 80 uranium per 10 refined or 8/1 ratio. 1 batch of 60 bullets of 7.62 shock ammo requires 1 refined uranium (or 8 uranium), 8 lead and 16 explosive.

It used to cost 2 uranium per batch but you could do base defense missions to farm more uranium. How are we supposed to get uranium for everything now? Just 5 per level up? that's insane considering there are tons of things that require uranium to craft. You don't get uranium from base defense missions now unless the rewards are different on harder difficulties (I only tested easy mode) but you still have to do at least as many base defense missions just to refine the material.

But seriously am I missing something? Where do we get uranium now besides 5 per level up?

the balancing is some insane mmo numbers

it is not really worth to grind for ethanol if you can only craft 3 med packs out of it from a medium run, you are way faster to hunt the spetsnatz rollerboys in the north to get your fancy healing, imo they should reduce the crafting recipe to something like 1 ethanol for the advance med pack

the vampire gold augmentation has also real crazy numbers but bronze or silver also already works just fine without ethanol, so it is just for the bored long time players to have a fancy long term goal


furnace also burns yours precious resources if you aren't constantly checking the temperature, so you end up with half of the possible outcome if you never checked the temp

i would love to see some experimental ammo in the loottable of the bosses like reaper uses heat ammo

maybe some modder will fullfil this dream one day

Thanks, that's a tiny bit helpful. I usually wipe out the bases as soon as I notice them instead of letting them hit level 3. Guess I'll have to change that.

But still, it takes forever for them to take a control point and reinforce it to max, then assault it only to get 4 or 5. You need 100 to turn the furnace on, right? So 20 to 25 max level base assaults to get enough ore for 1 refining run? I can't even begin to think how much time that is.

Surely this isn't intended.
