got my first reaper today solo, didn't look up any guides or tips for killing him, wanted to discover that for myself. i did however discover something and tested it further in that same fight.

firstly the reapers thermobaric blast wont hurt you in a house reguardless of distance from it PROVIDED you are not aiming at time of detonation or outside said house. confirmed as before i tried not aiming at it when it detonated i burned through 20 adrenaline's. took a lot of ammo (like 600 rounds of .50 ap through my exp pvg 90 before i put 2 and 2 together and figured out the red was his damage mitigation *slaps himself* once i figured that out it was a normal tank fight for me with more ammo used as was proven by the second one that spawned immediately after the first died and a third spawned in after killing the second plus 1 runner...... go figure haven't killed the third one as of the time writing this. took the second reaper out with far far FAR less ammo than the first and with only 3 deaths unlike the 24-25 of the first one though i will say i used up 4k worth of 7.62 ap through a 3 grown kvm 59. i do have a 6 crown ag4 but i have to reload so much even with a 4 crown extended mag. bit of a funny now while fighting the second reaper, i'm fighting from a intact house (do NOT fight a reaper from the totaled house in lilla dyrbo, learn from my mistake!!) at sandbo and i'm avoiding his termobaric blast which he detonates and THAT of all things takes him down the last few % of his health. needless to say my jaw dropped for a second before i shook my head said "oooooookayyyyy, ill take it!" mopped up the last of the runners and went to collect my loot.

anyway now for my drops:
exp kpist (my 3rd one......) reaper 1
exp sledge (yay! just way i always DIDN'T want) reaper 2
hat reaper 2
jacket reaper 1
gloves reaper 1

rest was resources and ammo

of the clothes i got i still prefer my full set of fnix gear and more so since i have them schemed for the camoflage set and that gives me 12% visibility reduction.

My first Reaper:

I spawned it, immediately fast travelled to it, made sure i had ammo and meds, and began the fight.
I fought for 15 minutes, trying to find the weak spots and taking out the Shield Coils on it's legs, seeing it's attacks.
The game decides to crash. (I had only ever had maybe 3 crashes before in the ~120 hours i have)
So i reboot. I find my resources are depleted and i go to the Reaper.... no damage.
I begin again, taking out the coils faster, getting it to the point where his Thermobaric attacks are frequent.
10 minutes in, the game crashes again.
I reboot again, my resources are depleted again, and i go back to the Reaper again.
He is damaged, probably close to where I crashed.
I continue the fight and 2 separate Level 4 rivals from the area join.
He kills them both with his Thermobaric attack. Neither drop anything good.
I then kill the Reaper.
I'm being attacked by a few other bots, so I quickly search and take all and run around the corner.
looking at the still from the video, I received:

1 gas tank
22 adhesive
FOA Exo Jacket
335 9mm FMJ SMG
1321 7.62mm AP (dont use)
847 9mm AP Handgun (Dont use)
and something else, but I didn't get to see and it was probably just ammo or something....

Disappoint....

Boots from the first. Pants from the next 2. Quite a bit of ammo. We'll see what #4 has. Kinda anticlimactic. Shot off the guns of the first 2 and dumped 7.62 into the face til they dropped. Amputated the shields of #3 and it pulled the suicide bomber routine.

My first Reaper spawned in the Marshlands. Lots of slogging round in knee deep water, and endless Rocket Dawgs sniping me from the reeds. Next time I'll try someplace drier and with a bit of cover.

Three times I could outrun the Thermo Blast, if I ran the instant I heard hissing. Wait til you see green smoke, and there's no chance. However, during most of the fight there is so much going on I didn't notice the hiss.

I wasted about 350 rounds of 50BMG before realizing-Red Means Stop Shooting.
Started shooting only when the Red Lightning quit, and got him down to 50% health.
Stopped checking his HP, cuz I died every time I whipped out the Binos.

I started shooting the Swirly Red Things on the side of his head, hoping they are shield generators, he then, took offence and killed us both.
And fell into deep water! Arghhh!

Luckily, after 4 tries of jumping in the water, I was able to hit E fast enough to collect my third Exp Klaucke and the 'Lectric Hammer plus some pants that make my bum look big.

In all I took about 35 min. and used about 600 rounds of 50Bmg, 600 of 7.62 in the Exp KVM 59, 36 Stim Shots, and at least 70 med kits.

I do think he is gorgeous and the sounds are marvelous! Can't wait for next time.

sounds remarkably like my first battle but i was in farmlands at dyrbo farm and i was solo. you should deff try house hunting him when ya can.

Around the crater is a good hunting spot. Try to keep it at around 200 meters.Snipe the guns and shoot it in the face. You are far enough to avoid the flaming ring of death and deal with the rocket dogs before they become a problem. DO NOT fight one in open ground. They seem to like a merry chase over hill and dale, culminating with a block party with all their friends and a rousing game of stomp the human. Nothing like 3 harvesters doing the "hunter spam" while one of these things chases you around the field.

agreed and why i snipe them from inside a house the only thing they can get me with is that gas in their rockets (that machine gun of theirs is no joke to be certain) but i have figured out the tanks pattern and can get to cover before they shoot the second reaper i killed was almost close enough for the close range gas cloud like a harvester.

I've fought Reapers at the Mullvadsberget Tunnels on three separate occasions. The first time I found protection from the Thermobaric blast deep in the tunnel below. The second time I fought there, I used the same spot but the gas found me. I thought it might be a fluke but it happened again today. I ended up having to lure him to a nearby farm (luckily, also a Safehouse). I wonder if they did something to the tunnel.

According to the devs they are continually making improvements in the world. Your must enable any level of Apex account for that to happen.

My first reaper was STUPID.

I wanted to fight it without spoiling myself but I must have been doing something wrong, or scaling was f-cked, cause it took me THREE HOURS to beat it.

Yes, I had only a 4 crown AI-76....but COME ON! It took me nearly 8k rounds of armor piercing 7.62 and 40 rockets to kill it.

And yes, I did blow out it's shield generators. The glowing "f-ck me" lights were obvious.

At a certain point sunk-cost kicked in and decided to just take it down. Didn't help I had to fight it in the open too with next to no cover.

Every single component was destroyed, thing was still standing so I just had to shoot it until it decided to kill itself...great fight too, not even a good weapon (or any weapon) just exo-suit jacket that doesn't even look better then the FINX jacket...

So a HUGE waste or resources for literally nothing...at least it refunded half the ammo I spent on it...

Needless to say, my second fight went MUCH better as it spawned near a factory which gave plenty of cover and blindspots where it couldn't hit me. Also had better weapons too so was a lot more profitable this time around.

one more that shoots at the reaper with the protection shields turned on loss of monicoes, too bad no one saw my video explaining how to shoot down a reaper. and the reaper dies still had 2 of the 4 shields attached
