Anyway to force 16:9 resolutions?
1920 x 1080 or higher would be nice...

Or even if Steam could be bothered to mention what the supported resolutions are would have been nice to know before buying.

I bought the game today, and I don't miss widescreen... it wouldn't make much difference on this game, seriously. Of course, it would be a little bit better, but...

Also, @larams67, you could have tried the DEMO before buying (I did). I'm sorry to be rude, but are you really so into graphics that you wouldn't have bought this game if you knew beforehand it didn't offer widescreen? Sorry again, but I hate when I see these kinds of complaints on games like this. Nonsense, in this case, the gameplay isn't affected at all, only the graphics are.

It's a quality of life change, The japanese devs are trying to appeal to the western audience, they should be aware of our prefernces. 1920x1080 is standard in almost every game nowadays. I don't see why they can't patch this is in if there raking money in the sale right now.
This is a 2007 game that was localized in 2010, for what it's worth.

The dev is currently working on a game called Territoire.

Also, specifically about this:
1. I didn't know that 1920x1080 is "standard in almost every game nowadays". (Heck, I don't even have a screen that goes up to that resolution.)
2. They're probably making games that aren't meant to appeal to the mid-to-top-end western gaming audience anyway. For a person (such as myself) who plays these older styles of games, or regularly plays games windowed, this is hardly an issue.

That said, as I mentioned earlier, they're working on something new anyway. I guess we'll just wait and see what comes of it.

I play this in Windowed Mode, just so I could check the time and remember to sleep.
I wonder if this may be helpful: http://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/860-chantelise-resolution-switcher/
Chantelise is another game from the same devs.

Just so others know, no, Chantelise's resolution switcher does not work with Recettear.

You can change the resolution with DgVoodoo2, though.

>complaining about graphics in a 2007 cd-only doujin game whose devs have been in hell for the past 10 years

gamers are the worst race, stop complaining and go reverse-engineer a widescreen patch yourself because you're just not gonna get it. good luck fixing all the tons of other issues you'd encounter with such a task
