He wanted a potion to stun bandits prior to tying them up. He did not accept any potions that could stun them. I have tried: Sleep, Explosion, and Lightning.

Are you sure this question is about the game Recettear?

I don't remember any of the townsfolk asking for something like that. Maybe one of the adventurers I haven't yet unlocked does, but I don't remember these sorts of potions either.
