Random high ping
Not sure if this fits here, but for the past hour I've noticed my ping in every server has skyrocketed. I usually get around 20 to 30 on the servers I play on, but for no reason my ping jumped to an average of over 300. I did some speedtests (with the game off and with the game running) and my internet is fine, I also checked in other games and none of them give me a high ping, it's just in SCP:SL.
I asked others in the server(s) and none of them have high ping, it's seemingly only me.
It happens on every server I join, how can I fix this? Cause playing any SCP, or shooting accurately, becomes absolutely impossible with such high ping.

Edit: I have 30mbps download internet, 20mbps upload, and am connected via cable. it's only been high recently (for the past 2 hours) and stays up, rarely heavily fluctuating from as low as 20 up to as high as 300, but usually stays above 200ms.

Hello,

What is the jitter value of your internet connexion?

An instable ping is sign of a high jitter problem. Make sure that no programs are taking bandwith in background when your ping jump, or that no one take a high usage of your connexion.

Jitter is shown as 1ms, and the only program i had running in the background was a soundboard, which isnt connected to the internet (and for the first hour of using it the ping was fine as well). I was also the only awake at the time so nobody else was using the internet.
Wouldn't a high jitter problem also have reflected on other games though? Cause I tested it on diffrent games and they all had good ping ranging from 5-40 depending on the game and servers I joined, it only jumped so high in SCP:SL

It all depends on the server you are connecting to

But I always have around 20-30 on the usual servers I'm on, and those same servers suddenly give me 300+

So thats either a server problem, either a connexion problem.

I have the same problem, here is what happens:
So, i play for a few hours, 1 or 2, it doesnt matter how much time but its after 1 entire hour, my ping goes from 24,30 or even 10 to 100, and only in the next day it goes back to 24,30 or 10.

So uh. Any of you have a fix yet?
ExGOD Nov 17, 2022 @ 6:06am
i think its because most of the servers are European so if ur from Asia u definitely will get over +200 ping since the game it self is western server my ping always on 200-300 when i play this game its not the connection issue its the game server itself
