Half-Life

Half-Life

When was the last time HL1 was on sale via Steam and how much
I tried pulling this up under the game specific news but I don't see anything unlike some of the past sale price information I know I've seen for other games.

Can anyone tell me if HL1 or the Half Life 1 bundle (Blue Shift, Opposing Force, etc.) has been on sale recently and what the price was that Valve was charging?

I hate to pay $10 or $15 for either but my son is just hounding the crap out of me and I keep saying we should wait for the next Steam sale.

Thanks in advance.

Long ago...in a far away galaxy....
But seriously, I think next big steam sale will be around Christmas (if you don't know, it's around the last week of December). There 100% will be sales on all Valve games. But I must add, that 10$ for Half Life Anthology (includes Half Life 1, Blue Shift, Opposing Force and Team Fotress Classic) is a great bundle, which is much more worth than 10$.

yeah, 10 bucks is a good deal for the bundle.

Download Black Mesa Source for free, that would cover half life 1. Search it.

Yes we did that and it seems to be working well enough for now. I found an old HL1 install disc and proceeded to install it on one of my Win7 boxes but even after validating the Serial #, I continue to get 'insert CD in CD-ROM drive' error messages. Not going to continue to beat my head against that wall.

$15 isn't too bad for that bundle but if you still want to purchase it at a cheaper price, I should mention theres going to be a Halloween Steam Sale. Great chance to buy it at 50% or 75% off. Also, you should check the daily/weekend sales regularly, you'll never know Valve might do a special sale for the games.

Last time I remember HL being on sale was in 2008 I believe and went for 98 cents.

Nah its a completely didfferent game, he'll never get the true feeling of a half life game
I think just buy the game stand alone, its still pretty fun, Also because its one of the first FPS's out

I bought the Half Life 1 Anthology during the last Winter Sale of 2011 for under 4$. It included HL1 and it's two expansions as well as Team Fortress Classic oddly enough. I have only seen HL1 go on sale during the seasonal sales so far.
Um the last sale was.....right now!

LOL 3 months later.... If you Patch the HL Install to v1.1.10 http://www.fileplanet.com/57317/50000/fileinfo/Half-Life-1.1.1.0-Client-%28Full-Client%29 , and restart HL, you no longer need the disc. (This is if you installed HL to C;/Sierra/Half-life/ instead of STEAM)
