Different Weapon Models?

I just played multiplayer yesterday and the weapons are different. Like the pistol looks like a beretta, the shotgun looks like spas, and the machine gun looks like a m16. Is there a way to change back to the old weapons? I do not like these new weapons!

These are the "HD" weapons originally developed for the Half-Life port to the Sega Dreamcast. They were supposed to be exclusive to that platform along with a small single-player campaign developed by Gearbox Software who did the porting. The content were eventually released as a stand-alone expansion pack named "Half-Life:Blue Shift" and the HD content became the default for many versions of Half-Life on Steam, including my retail version which was named "Half-Life Platinum Pack" for some reason. Personally I've never liked them, they look too cartoony and the color palettes doesn't mesh well with the rest of Half-Life. Even the sounds are worse than the original, and the soundtrack seems to have lower quality than my original CD.

I personally like the new weapons, but I agree. There needs to be some way to change back to the original look! how else can I satisfy my nostalgia now?!

The weapons are from the HD pack. Originally, you had to download the pack off steam. To enable/disable the HD models is go into options/video and look for a box that says "Enable HD models".

The new models are pissing me off. I was wanting to replay Half-Life, but I just can't with these horrendous models. I really wish I had a solution, but I don't.

EDIT: i like the new scientist and guard models, but i also kinda like the old weapon models

If I recall correclty, when in game check your options and I believe under the video tab you can change something with the models.

Go to Half-Life directory and remove valve_hd folder.
