Having a mouse problem
Recently I have been having a problem with the mouse. What happens is the mouse isn't locked, meaning if the pointer reaches the edge of the screen, my view is stuck. I can only looks so far to the left or right until my view stops moving. I have tried everything I can think of. I have restarted my computer, disabled and re-enabled mouselook, verified files and reinstalled the time. This has not happened before and help is appreciated.

I had this problem a few days ago, and it went away after I installed the beta patch Valve released a while ago.

I opted into the beta and installed it but the problem persists. I'm using windows vista. No, it is NOT a vista problem. This only started happening saturday i believe.

Weird, as installing the beta removes the problem for me. Try to enable raw mouse input in the option menu.

Guess I'm out of tricks. And I assume that you do not own one of the WON edition?

now that i was able to get my saved game files to load, all of a sudden i am experiencing this. using osx

Try running the game in windowed mode, in the launch options of the game(right click on it in Steam library) put -windowed -noborder

I'm running OSX 10.6.8 and I'm experiencing this mouse problem as well as the "loss of saved games" problem. It seems like they started happening at the same time.

I opted into beta in the game's properties and tried Tri's suggestion and everything works fine now. Search for "Half-Life level codes" to pick up where you left off if you lost your saved games.

I am another with this problem... I use Ubuntu.
Gentoo Linux reporting in with the same problem. It was fine yesterday, today it's broken.

So I have some some troubleshooting on this.

It looks like to mouse is only honoring the window size of the "Escape" screen.

I am able to move my mouse the length of the screen (like it does not wrap)
I can move my mouse all the way to the right until the aim stops moving.
I then hit escape (pausing the game)and move my mouse all the way to the left.
I hit escape again (resuming the game) and can move my mouse further to the right but not any further to the left.

I enabled -dev in the startup options and here is the console output ( note sure if anything useful is in it.)
