Blast Pit Puddle

I think I may be stuck at the portion of Blast Pit when you have to jump across the electrified puddle. I've tried pushing the boxes into the water and using them to jump across but no matter how I do it I hit the tail end of the puddle and die. I've tried to get some hints watching videos on youtube and it seems like they all hit the puddle a bit and the HEV suit absorbs it and they keep going. Unfortunately my HEV suit has 0 battery (or whatever it is) and my attempts to go back and find some to charge it have been fruitless. I don't have any other saves to use to avoid this issues.

Is there a way to clear the puddle completely by jumping off the boxes and I just haven't done it? If some HEV life is necessary is there any place in that level I can recharge? Am I just SoL?

Well like any Valve puzzle, you need to figure it out!

Energy/battery is just plain armor. As a general advice, dodge bullets and avoid hazards (such as explosions) to conserve it. Tee effing hee ;)

Are we talking about the part where you can just hop up on the pipes coming out of the wall and walk across them? Or is there another puddle in that area that I've forgotten about?

Yeh I think so, where the houndeyes are in the long corridor followed by the room of solid crates.

Want me to ruin the puzzle for you? Walk on the pipes attached to wall instead of walking over the puddle

Am I supposed to get to the pipes via that big box that's too high to hop onto even when jumping from lil crate next to it?
