Half Life 1 Could not find filesystem dll to load

Today I bought the game Half Life 1 here on steam and I installed and everything worked, I threw up a little.
But then when I went in again, the game would not open and this message appeared:
Fatal error Could not find filesystem dll to load
I do not know what to do!!
If anyone knows, please tell!

Mine won't work either, I've tried to use the .dll from opposing forces and Blue shift but nothing is working

-Actually I found out how to fix it

go to your steam directory and delete

AppUpdateStats.blob

ClientRegistry.blob

then go into steamapps, "your account", and delete counter strike folder. you can back up anything u like from the cstrike folder. once u have done that, open up steam, let it update..

when its done updating go to library, right click on Half-Life, go to properties, local files tab, and click on "verify integrity on game cache. after its done try and run HL, see if it works

Thank you, but it dosent work, and i dont have AppUpdateStats.blob, and i dont have a conter stike folder

i didn't have any of these files but it still worked
