Stupid question, how do I take screenshots in Half-Life?
F12 doesn't seem to work...

F5 saves an uncompressed .BMP screenshot in your Half-Life directory. It's built in the Half-Life engine so you don't need Steam.

Isn't F5 also the default for quicksave ? One may want to save screenshots without necessarily having to save the game. Anyway, there are plenty of good software to take screenshots (in case your game doesn't handle the saving by itself), some of them even are freeware.

Is the Steam overlay enabled in game? Check if it's a different button for Steam screenshots.

You can if you re-bind the crouch key.
hold shift and press f12

All shift does is preventing game crashing when I press F12
