Any way to revert the anniversary "update"?

Is there any way I could undo the horror that has been unleashed on us? I am talking about the new sounds and new models that were forced on us by this "update"?

Right click > Properties > Betas > steam_legacy

There aren't new sounds and models on by default for OG halflife.

Uplink is bugged though and shows the HD models I think but that is all old/new stuff added to this release.

in options there should be a option to use old models. the sounds and models are normal for me. btw those "improved" models have been around for a long while.

Right click > Properties > Betas > steam_legacy

Legacy did not work for me, still lost all binds and crosshairs.

Restore of Half Life folder worked fine.

I have about 200 Half-Life mods, after the update the menus were twice as big as before and some mods would no longer work, I tried the Legacy Mode and everything went back to normal.
