they also suffer from bad gameplay so yeah those mods better not play them.........
This.
Yeah, Azure Sheep corridors just a poor joke, I don't know what was the point to make them so maze-y. Azure Sheep gameplay is fine, if you just leave Cate and clear the level before escorting her forward. I actually liked the idea of not having any armor through half of the game, it gives HEV more feeling of power.
It wasn't as good as Vendetta but still pretty fun and the level desing and weapon custom models and animations were top notch.
I can argue that. Replacing actual weapons with... nailguns, even highly detailed, is kind meh. Makes fighting feel stale. Also there's questionable level design choices in few areas.
I played this for the first time recently, and ended up making this image.

Eww, this was the pain point of the original mod. The maps aren't designed for it. Too many wide open spaces with zero cover, and too many cheap ambushes. The Enlightened rerelease adding body armor pickups as well as a couple weapons takes off much of the annoying slog.
And? The point of a mod isn't to follow 100% the original game, many mods that were Total Conversion has shown that.
A mod turning a game into something else is not necessarily a bad thing.
As for the overdetailness of the thing, are you telling that if someone makes more efforts it's inherently worse than somebody else that did less?
