How do I install addons?

I probably am not the first person to ask this, but yeah

download the mod and transfer the "valve" folder to half life

Note: Addons do things like swap models, textures, sounds, etc. Mods are usually much larger, being either heavily modified base campaigns.

Anyways, here's how to install addons:

1. Navigate to your Half-Life Steam directory. This can be done by right-clicking Half-Life in your Steam Library and selecting Manage > Browse Local Files.

2. You will need to create a new folder called valve_addon in your Half-Life directory.

Note:
The .zips add-ons come in will likely already be organized in their own valve_addon. Within it, you’ll find folders such as "maps", or "sound", which contain the actual content of the addon.

3. Extract the zipped content directories of the addon to your valve_addon folder.

4. Make sure that to custom addon content in the settings, and you should be good to go.
