Half-Life

Half-Life

Half life decay canon? (Along with other half life games)
Ok I don’t know if anyone already answer this but is this decay game canon? (Like there is a part where Gordon was killed by the army)

And also here this if I’m correct I hear that the half life games are not canon like half life 1 and 2 are not canon but anthology? Is it true? Same thing for blue shift and opposing force?

There isn't a part where "Gordon was killed by the army".

HL, HL2 and its episodes are canon, anything other than that is in the grey zone.

If you think expansions are canon, then they are canon; if not, then they are not canon. They do not add anything relevant. Many will mention the nukage of the facility; but it was already being bombed in HL, you don't need an expansion to assume it got destroyed.

there was a part where gordon gets killed by HECU grunts (as a game over screen in one of the decay missions) but it was cut

Everything is Canon,Gordon's death was a cut feature if you failed something which i don't remember.

Cross is alive but it is assumed that Gina is dead because in Opposing force you can find a woman with an orange HEV suit that looks like Gina but i'd say they just reused her model and she's also alive.

I think the expansions will always be canon because Barney makes appearence. It's a bit sad really that Cross,Green and Adrian don't have their own continuation because Valve did not want to continue making HL games. But with Half life Alyx i still have hopes that one day they use Green,Cross and Adrian.

Until Valve says the expansions are non canon, they're canon.

As canon as Gina Cross is.

I have a heard it was cannon. The mission where Gordon was killed by the army was cut, what was supposed to happen though is that Gina and Colette would have to save Gordon before he was killed and crushed in the trash compacter. Also Marc Laidlaw who was a writer for the OG Half-Life games doesn't believe in cannon and he also said, "making something cannon makes it non-cannon" ( I don't think I quoted that 100% correctly). In my opinion every Half-life game is cannon, maybe you don't think that. It is up to you on how you feel about the series.
