Half Life cheats not working

Hi I have been playing around in Half life and was trying to enable cheats to screw around in the opening sequence, but the only cheat that seems to work is the god mode cheat, I can't get any of the give cheats to work, does anyone know how to fix this?

it may be that some need things like sv_cheats 1 need the 1 to activate it idk i dont like cheats, but this works in other things like half life 1 mods and other things

Right click the Half Life shortcut on your computer, and to the "Target" field at the end add -dev -sv_cheats 1 -console. That should do it.

I've already added all the fields, and used the sv_cheats 1, as i said god mode works but none of the give cheats work, also i have the Steam version of Half Life, not the disc

Press F6 while playing (Quick save).
Type your cheats.
Press F9 (Quick load).
Type your cheats again.

I tried the save and load thing, it still doesn't seem to work, still only god that seems to work

UPDATE: I tried using my save and quick saves, and they didn't seem to work, but after loading an autosave, my god mode remained on, and I was able to use the give cheats, not sure why this is, but that seems to fix the problem for me
