Its supposed to close after the scientist causes the tripmine to explode.

It closes if you break the glass near it.

Try reloading the save, sometimes it needs multiple reloads to activate the script.
Or else break the glass manually as said above.

Since when? The mine doesn't hit the glass even on retail. It's too far.
