Does the current build of Half-Life work on Windows XP?
I recently made myself a retro PC setup to play older titles on a Windows XP machine.

I plan on buying a CRT monitor, and one of the games I'd like to play on it is Half-Life.

Does the current build of Half-Life still work on older operating systems?

Dont think so, also the game needs Steam, which doesn't run on WXP machines as far as I know. Maybe there's a way to bypass that, but seems like a chore.

For retro get an OG won cd version and patch it to last won patch

No since Steam isn't supported for XP anymore. You can pirate the original version of it but that's it.
