Is there tool to create .wad files?
I want to edit the textures, and I already did, but I can't put them in a .wad file, because Google decided to NOT give me results about it. All the results are either "convert .wad to half life source blah blah" or counterstrike stuff, nothing of what i need; plus "Wally" thing is not working it's just broken.)

yes if a map DOES not have included in map textures you can edit them , first do what most mapers do .. decompile the map look at it in hammer for example see what the texture name is go back to a wad file for example in your case "halflife"wad and look at it in wally for example or gfc scape extract the one texture and add what you want and save it to a stand alone file folder and import it in using wally , place the wad file in your game folder "valve i think" and enjoy .. now if wally says not the right type of file to open in wally then try you paint program or "infraview" till you get the right fromat

Ok for some reason the textures are included in the BSP, I think its possible to modify the bsp with a hex editor but its a slow painfull process.
If I`m not busy at the weekend, I`ll code a tool to edit out the textures from bsp`s.

i need for all main maps, from c0a0 to the last one whatever it was.
ahh then you dont need the map files ..why? you ask , well there was never a need to make them " wad included " so you have the maps in you valve /maps folder halfliofe.wad should be in your valve folder .done deal :steamhappy:
dude i changed the c1a0 door texture in halflife.wad but ingame its the same
and you placed in valve folder? and you confirmed replace file when pasting ? please re check
also did you even have to confirm to replace the halflife.wad file ..if not this is the problem it could be in a "pak" file but seams too unlikly after steam pipe update

yes i checked halflife.wad has the edited texture, it however is not changed ingame
try removeing the halflife.wad and replace it with a wad such as "basics.wad" and reneame that to halflife and re run game if textures do not turn purple then the wad file is not replacable
it is intergrayted into a file , you could try reloading the game and se if the format is different but who knows at this point

nah actually i moved halflife.wad to desktop, textures are still there ingame
theyre inside the bsp files
can u give me the bsp files without any textures in them? so that i can use custom ones
