But to me is just totally enougth to finishing Half-Life without have been killed in any way, something that I have made several times, but not so many times like I could have wished. In fact I have finished in that way the whole games, but episode two, there I have died at less once, and I made episode one recently. But without damage, no way for me... and with HEV suit is ridiculous to want that goal... I mean, you have HEV suit for something....
However, about your question, my uncle reached the tenssion surface gargantua without any damage just once, and he was burned a little there, but he didn't die. I didn't see it personally he called me really exited and proud about what he already did... Maybe when I was there watching him, he was nervious and failed for that, but if he was honest, he reached that place without any damage.
At this point, I must ask are you saying that some people have finished this game with no damage and killing the whole enemies? I doubt that, maybe avoiding some combats... but I find quite impossible do that, if you enter in the whole combats.
Probably the only latter part of the game that I can beat without damage is Xen (most challenging part of Xen, imho, would be the Gonarch)
Good luck on your no damage run!
Perhaps I'm spoiled by games like ArmA, where the point is that if you take one or two rounds you're toast, but this game is super unforgiving with enemy to player damage.
