Elevator Glitch on Power Up chapter?

I been doing this for an hour trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. In Power Up there is a lift you need to get working again, I fixed the engine in the water area, pressed the power button and head up to the lift the two soldiers come down with. However every time I get on the lift it insta kills me. It always happens either when the lift starts moving or just as I get to the top. Is this a glitch or am I just missing something?

You're playing at too high FPS, or you didn't clear out all the millions of tripmines in the area.

If you're standing on a platform that moves up or down, jump before it stops. It'll become habit before long.

Or you could cheese it and mod the game with AMX Unstuck Lul
