put -nofbo in launch options for half-life and use OpenGL or just turn on low video quality mode, Software is quite garbage for 1080p

No your i5 - 10400 has a GPU, it's a 630 integrated gpu, you're gonna tell me that GPU can run Half-Life 2 but not a game from 1998? Your framerate goes to "2 FPS" because the new OpenGL rendering method isn't really suited for Intel GPUs thus you use -nofbo as a launch option, software mode was only made to be run at very low resolution not 1080p

have you tried turning low video quality mode on in settings? also are you sure your graphics are actually enabled in your BIOS?

Google your respective motherboard and then on how to enable integrated graphics

Set Launch parameters (-heapsize x and -threads x)

Maybe I will get better performance, although HL1 looks good with 1024x768 resolution what you can change are the dimensions by typing default_fov 100 in console
