Disable VSYNC / Override refresh rate in HL 1.1.1.0 (WON)
After hours of tweaking I'm now desperate...

Original Half-Life (the WON version) has very limited settings.
There are 3 video modes: Software, OpenGL and Direct3D.

Software mode is outdated as hell.
Direct3D won't let me choose the right resolution and causes strange bugs.
OpenGL could be perfect... but it defaults my refresh rate to 60hz. My CRT monitor can go up to 1600x1200@85hz - that's the goal to achieve.

Unfortunately, most of the console commands are not supported in this version.
"fps_max 85" enables 85hz in Software mode, but does nothing in OpenGL.
"fps_override 1" / "-freq 85" / "gl_vsync 0" - don't exist in this version.

Strangely, the menu runs at 85hz until you launch the game. Then it changes back to 60hz.
Overriding the resolution of menu with "-lw 1600 -lh 1200" breaks it's appearance.

Are there any other commands or changes I can make in the .cfg file?
I don't want to use external software, because it can affect other games.

P.S. My system is running Windows XP SP3. It's a retro-gaming rig. :duke:

Original WON CD version has built in fps cap of 72 fps and open Gl is the only option that kinda works. Also it only supports a max resolution of 1280 x 960. You would have to check if your monitor supports that resolution at 85hz
