Why hd models sucks?

Who says? No official media that I can recall for the first game depicts Gordon with a pistol, only the crowbar and "non-HD" shotgun. I never noticed this, but I never looked for it either

non-stock assets just kill the feel of the game. they're a straight downgrade

The HD models are "stock assets" for the PS2 version so again context matters

As stated above, the feel of the game is largely dependent on which version you played first. I played the PS2 version first, but shortly after played the WON PC version. So they both have nostalgia for me, but the PS2 version has the "ultimate" nostalgia

Also there are some minor and not-so-minor differences between the HD models on PC and the ones in the PS2 release as well as the DC non-release

they don't? people just don't like them because they don't really fit with half life's style and there were some strange changes like replacing mp5 with an m4

Actually there's a model for that xD, well idc about the hd models, as long as they don't make the game heavier or something

It is early supposes for bshift addon by gearbox , not valve

If u want better models n textures for half life, u should check the Trusty Crowbar facebook page, they have model packs for HL, BS n OF.

To each their own, it's mostly opinion based and making another heated debate will lock the thread.

And yes, I still prefer the HD models mostly because of nostalgia for the PS2 version of the game and think that some weapons looks/sounds better while some replacement weren't necessary).

Some people have differents likes, I prefer them better textured and with better models, also there's a better textured for BS, and I played it all campaign, those textures look nice in my opinion.

Trusty Crowbar texture are the best! Vorts and bullsquids are too shiny but imo doesn't matter

I would like original crowbar with HD pack texture. The HD model is too thick and chunky I like how it looks in the original but the rustiness of the HD texture also looks nice

I know, well unfortunately, BS and OF don't have the as a good textured as HL, but if u are interested buddy, u can find a better textured for BS in gamebanana search it as "Ultimate HD blue shift". God bless u

Personally I like the thicker one, it makes it feel like a heavy piece of metal that can actually hurts than the SD which looks more like an aluminium bar.
