Half-Life

Could a resonnance cascade happen in real life?
Also how a spectometer could ever open a portal to another dimension?

Evidently yes, you only need energy enought to curve space tame and match two points. In one side us, in the other side hostile creatures. That easy. And what was impossible some years ago is possible now, is just a matter of time to learn how to.

Not really sure how will that work in real life, let alone those type of aliens being real and had intentions to rule over Earth. But I'd be deeply disturbed if the military's mission were to be a clean sweep operation to wipe out literally everyone there.

Dude it's a sci-fi game. It's loosely based on real science, sure. But it still complete nonsense.

The parallel dimension theory is still just a theory, we didn't prove that there are frontier worlds like Xen.

I wonder if there were already stories about the military being sent to supress any problem by getting rid of everyone involved in it (but it's most likely a conspiracy theory).

Even if it's sci-fi spectrometers are still a thing. But I doubt that a crystal of negative mass would ever cause a rift in the fabric of reality.

Nothing could really happen until you activate the stage 2 emitters and the rotors. CERN is getting TOO CLOSE for comfort though. If not a resonance cascade, then a black hole they create will gobble up the Earth. I'd rather have aliens from Xen as its offers a better chance of survival.

Something to do with quantum physics. You see, portal to another world isn't as easy as going from point A to point B. They've discovered a strange borderworld that was somehow involved in the process which kept us from accurately predicting where any given teleportation event would lead to back on Earth. Some of the more promising research on the matter led to a device that could be attached to strange crystalline structures they found on this borderworld. Now, this device, could then be used as a focal point and relay to aid in the teleportation. Well, in theory that is.

Hello there doctor Rosenberg.

You say this like you know what a "crystal of negative mass" is or if it even exists in real life. You're not a quantum physicist.

I am no physicist but wouldn't it mean that it would be made of anti-matter? The thing that could generate energy by colliding with matter of the same mass thanks to anihiliation.

How do you know that person is or isnt?

Edit: Aside from answering it just now.

I was reading the wiki and actually the crystal isn't made of antimatter, just exotic matter.

Yeah I just saw your answer, we both posted at the same time lol. But wait, that doesnt mean it also gives the ability to actually open the portal from another world, is it?

Good thing that I'm sure that the people at the CERN are probably more competent than those at Black Mesa (you know, the place with pools of radioactive acid before the resonnance cascade happened) and that they don't have an interdimensional government man in a suit with a briefcase to give them a purely dangerous sample.

I'd be glad if we don't have an antimass spectrometer because we lack the funding to R&D this technology and that it would take too much energy anyway.

Or a certain mysterious man in a suit that decides to trick our scientist into using it and cause this amount of chaos. He really hates Black Mesa that much doesnt he? Wont even let Shepherd to disarm the bomb.

Well I don't know what Valve is planning to do...

It has been almost 25 years.

Well, Half-Life Alyx happened and seem to show what happened.
