I recommend going to the files section on moddb and downloading the 'Ultra Definition Pack' which basically uses the Vortigaunt hands from Half Life Decay as I've always wanted to play way more missions than you got in the Xen Attacks mode which was great but limited and the Half Life Point of Viewpoint more or less fulfils what I've wanted from a Vortigaunt mod.
There are some things here and there that irk me slightly but not enough to spoil the game, as the mod is clearly made by some very dedicated Half Life fans, however, sometimes modder's can be a little too dedicated as they unnecessarily replaced the solider characters and added a female guard who just sounds a bit weird if you damage her (particularly if your playing the mod around other people..) as well as potentially messing with the lore in a lore-break-ey way by putting thing like Apperture Science into Xen (I could be entirely wrong) but I don't think they had the means to get to Xen -- yet Aparture Science is on Xen (?) -- and the last two niggly little things that are slightly annoying but not by much is you have to manually change the key layout as for whatever retarded reason the developer's replaced the move backwards button 'S' with a feature that is unique to the mod which is a thing that basically brings up the lore/thoughts of the main character.. so every time you press the 'S' key expecting to go backwards your instead reading narrative/character lore pops up (?).. I don't know why the mod developers did this but I manually changed the lore button to 'g' and how put the backwards button as 'S'... which is how it should be, again, I still don't know why they did that?
The final minor, most irrelevant pet-peeve is that when you download the Ultra Definition Pack (I can't remember what it's like without the pack) but there are no crosshairs which makes aiming unnecessarily hard but other than that the mod is really good and clearly well developed and do recommend it as a long term fan of Half Life.
**Just a few notes on installing as I found it hard to find readily available information on not only how to install the mod but also the 'Ultra Definition Pack' is shown down below in the following:
1. Exit or fully shut down Steam, then log back or re-launch Steam and then you should find a 'Point of View' somewhere in your Steam Library. Boom a mod for Half Life has been added!
2. The bit that definitely confused me and I found no information anywhere to assist me at the time that was clear if you download the 'Ultra Definition Pack' you essentially do the same thing as before, with a little difference -- when the 'Ultra Definition Pack' is downloaded you use a compression tool like 'WinRaR' to decompress the files instead and then you move and replace the files that are in the pov mod, in your half life directory (e.g.: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\pov .)
