Lambda core scientist wont open door(desc)
so i went to the lambda core thing, i killed the 3 alien brutes but the scientist wont open the door.
I reloaded the stage and he still wont open the door. I dont want to go to a previous save file since that one is probably still on forget about freeman, how fix?

I think 4 alien grunts spawn in instead, the first two ones in the room that the door is opened by the alien grunt, other one will spawn in a dark tunnel in the end of the room and the last in the first room you come from.

Yeah, i just realized, i killed 4 but he was in an entirely different spot so i figured there were 3, still the scientist wont open the door

Not familiar with map names or position of scientists in said map. But you may have to "push" or "nudge" the scientist closer to the switch, eye-scanner, button, etc.

I just went back to previous save, got fixed. Never knew what the problem was but its fine, maybe because i accidentaly took the elevator up when i already loaded the grunts, but ah well.

I am having a similar problem with Black Guard. Can not find any kind of card key nor will any scientist or security guard follow or open anything else for me. I have been up and down these corridors several times and nothing...

Yes I am about to after I finish a review. I just finished Brave Brain and had a similar experience. The machine you are suppose to get into would not allow me, even after getting the pass code. All my previous saves were after the fact so I had to reload from an auto save. That worked. Also there were glitches as well, like the passcode would not be repeated, even though the sequence of events would occur, with the hologram coming on and what not. I think it is more what Steam Pipe broke, rather than bad coding.

There's definitely some kind of bug here. After reading the comments here I realised 2 of the alien grunts failed to spawn. I'm guessing it might have something to do with the fact that I retreaded back up the lift at some point. I restarted a few save points back and made sure I didn't go back up the lift and all 4 grunts spawned and the scientist opened the door.

Had this problem just now, reloaded from previous save and everything worked.
What I think is the issue is that between generator control room and scientist room there is a load, and when I was fighting I retrieved to the previous sub-level, killed headcrab there, went back to the scientist room (load again) and killed the rest of enemies, but the game still thinks there's an enemy that needs to be killed (headcrab that I killed before the load) and it doesn't allow script to trigger.
