It looks like there is ways of getting 32-bit applications to work on Catalina, but I haven't tried any of them. I wish I could be of more help, but I don't use macOS on any of my machines.
I'd love a simple solution but I'm not holding out much hope tbh.
You might be able to compile 64-bit versions of Xash3D and the HLSDK. Xash3D dropped macOS support though,[github.com] so I doubt that it would work.
Suuuuuuuuuuuper helpful
Not really because they have bootcamp so if mac doesn't support it run bootcamp so its not apple's fault if ur too lazy or something
Removing 32 bit support it's stupid.
"Removing 32 bit support big update for gamers with 32 bit valve"

You can run Half Life natively on Mac, using the earlier mentioned Xash3d but from the awesome work at Mac Source Ports: https://www.macsourceports.com/game/halflife
Downside: it’s not compatible to launch within Steam, only „stand-alone“.
P.s.: that version of Xash3d also works with Blue Shift + Opposing Force.
