Half-Life

I do not understand the final boss.
I just beat Half Life, and I ran into one of the weirdest and most frustrating final bosses I've played, I just don't understand it, do I have to damage it? or do something else? How does it destroy the orange crystals of the walls? Is it necessary to go through those ♥♥♥♥ levels where he sends you? I managed to beat him but I don't understand how I did it, I was with him for about 1 hour with this thing, it didn't seem like it was hurting him, and I thought I had to destroy the crystals above but I even knew what they did, and the levels to which he sent you It was absurdly frustrating, I managed to make them all and eventually opened his head and after that came a point where he began to shoot weak rays and died. Anyone explain to me what the hell with this guy?

Destroy three orange crystals so he can't regenerate health, at this point his head will split open, exposing his weak spot, the triangle brain. Shoot it a couple of times and he is dead.

Okay that's very simple, but it was super weird it didn't seem like it was hurting him and only after a while he opened his head, in fact I think I didn't shoot him so much, after destroying the crystals nothing happened. I was only going through portals for about 2 hours and there was a point where the guy opened his head. It doesn't help that there was no clear indication of whether I was hurting him or not, I didn't even know that the crystals healed him.

It seems you've somehow managed to do all the things needed to kill it. Obviously those crystals are healing it. So you figured and destroyed them. Portals he opens are its hope of getting rid of you somehow but this also helps you to go some other places and find some ammo/armor/health if you wasted too much trying to figure out how to kill it.

After all these years, I still don't know why its head opens up but I believe It weakens and having hard time holding itself up. But yea that's its weak spot and you gotta boom boom its brain out.

There is not much of a meaning for that boss actually since things happening is not its fault either its master plan. I believe G-Man needed this creature to be eliminated for his clients to break the balance or bring up some since its really a powerful one and in their way. (we still don't know what the heck G-Man is working for). And by killing it you end up helping G-Man and this gives him or his clients more control over the universe.

This leads us to be locked up in some kind of personal prison by G-Man, waiting to be brought back to life after so many years when he thinks his services did no good to the world and beyond. Hoping you can help him again.

So if you have some unanswered questions after killing that boss, its pretty normal. Because to me, it is how it supposed to be. No in game characters, neither G-Man does not know whats gonna happen or was it a good choice to slaughter all those creatures and disturb the balance.

So the second game starts, Ep1 and Ep2 builds up more and story is still hanging there. Biggest drumroll in the gaming universe is still rolling.

Welcome to the unfinished story line of Half-Life my friend.

Yes, I managed to win but it took me about 2 hours, it was painful, I refused to see a guide because I felt that the boss's point is to find out how to beat him, but my God.

Yes, but I just started playing this franchise so ...

The teleportation isn’t necessary to win. It comes from the green orbs Nihilanth throws which follow you. If you don’t want to be teleported you can try to get the ball to crash into one of stalagmites and it will be destroyed.

Or use the Hivehand.

In fact I think it is easier to simply stay behind one of the walls of the place, I teleported because I thought it affected something. But thanks for the advice maybe in the future when I play this part again it will not be so painful.

It's not necessary to stay behind one of the walls, use the Hivehand (the alien one that has infinite ammo) and shoot the green portals, they will dissapear.

In my opinion this boss fight is pretty poorly designed. That's all there is to it, really.

You had frustrations with the final boss, did you like the rest of the game?

I find it as a very fun fps, I like the laboratory's scenario, and it's quite addictive, and I like this mix of puzzles with action, and that the game doesn't take you by the hand. But some sections are very frustrating, like some, well rather all the sections where you fight against the military, the last levels simply give an absurd jump in the difficulty curve, the last level where you fight against the military especially is the most stressful levels I played, not even the dimension where those aliens came was so difficult, the stupid level of the monorail, etc. But in general it seems like a very good science fiction game, I'm playing Half life 2 and frankly it's not catching me so much.
