Half-Life Decay

Hey guys, I turned the internet upside-down looking for precise tutorials on how to get Half-Life Decay on PC but I just can’t do it. The instructions aren’t clear enough and I’m not sure where to put the decay_exe file.
Have any of you guys done this? If so, can you tell me where it goes please? All I have achieved is how to get the “Change game” option in the start up menu. Many thanks guys, much appreciated

I’m afraid nothing shows up ;( I think what it the problem is where I’m supposed to install the file. I think the guides I had a look at were outdated

So what you’re saying is when I download Half-Life: Decay in the Half Life folder, I need to close steam and boot half-life from the half life folder in my file manager? And when I click on the change game setting, Decay should appear?

No. You don't need to close Steam. And that is merely a method of execution.
Another method: if you restart Steam after extracting the mod, it will appear in your library.
A method that I use: If you extract the mod then go to Half-Life's properties and add

-game {folder name}

, you'll be able to launch the mod.

Choose which one you like. The .EXE is only if you want to change through mods (something I occassionally do).

Thank you for your advice. I’m fairly sure that the Decay file once it’s downloaded is just simply called “decay.exe” so I go on steam, right click on Half-Life, properties, and go on launch options, type in:

decay.exe is an installer. The folder name is the mod folder's name. It cannot be an .EXE under any circumstances.

By .EXE I meant hl.exe, that's found in Half-Life directory. Not decay.exe. I thought I'd clarify.

So the folder that gets installed from the set up wizard must go in the Half-Life folder. Correct?
