How headcrabs don't attach on Gordon's head?
Through the Half Life series, as we know and as we've seen, the headcrab leap for the host's head and then attaches on it, trying to break into the skull with its beak to reach the brain (i guess?) and take control of the host. But that doesn't happens to Gordon. I mean, most headcrabs manage to attach on the host's head easily with a single leap, but strangely, this doesn't happens to Freeman. They constantly leap for Gordon's face but don't attach to it. Even after Gordon is killed by a headcrab, it won't attempt to attach to Gordon's head (possibly because the host is dead and couldn't be controlled). Also, Gordon never wears a helmet, so how come they constantly hump his face and don't attach on it?

I don't know why but I find the headcrabs in Half-Life 1 more terrifying (correct me if I typed this wrongly) than in Half-Life 2, like, it's kind of disgusting when they jump at your screen and you see their intestines, that bloody hole filled with intestines.
It's more gross then scary, though I get what your saying. I personally find the HL2 crabs creepier, not because of the crabs themselves but what they do to people. The HL1 zombies were more cartoony while HL2 zombies are more visceral and desturbing.

And then of course there's fast zombies...

Oh, I saw the reversed screams. The zombies on HL1 are somewhat terrifying with its long finger-bone-claws and that big "mouth". And you can see them feeding off corpses sometimes. But they are kind of disturbing in HL2, with the reversed screams for help and everything.

And the fast zombies, wow. I don't get too much scared when I spot one when I'm playing, except when it rushes at me, it gets me desperate. They sound like rabid dogs. "ABLARBARLABLARGB" and their howls...

For me it's the long monster arms and mouth etc. that makes the HL1 zombies less desturbing. They are more blatantly monstrous which makes it easy to forget they were once human, the HL2 zombies are far more human-like and therefore far scarier.

There was a thread on Reddit where supposedly Valve's designer confirmed that Gordon does have a helmet.
MONACO 29/out./2018 às 18:24
I don't think Gordon wears his helmet, as I said, in third person, Gordon doesn't wears his helmet (and that isn't the multiplayer model, I think), and in both Half-Life expansions (Blue Shift and Opposing Force), you get to see Gordon, and he isn't wearing his helmet either. Also, according to the wikia, the helmet is optional. and when we get the HEV suit, the helmet isn't included also. I'm not revealing the parts when you see Gordon in the HL1 expansions so I don't spoil people who intend playing these expansions.

On the beta/alpha Half-Life versions, the headcrabs would kill the player with a single hit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wX53uUi57PE - it's on the beginning of the video.
Also Houndeyes were originally friendly, they would just follow the player around (skip to the part 1:50 if you want to see about the Houndeyes).

They tried making the Headcrabs kill you instantly in the Alpha, but it was decided that's it a bad and annoying concept so they dropped it.

And if that happened, I would go in vents throwing grenades everytime, these headcrabs get me nervous.
The Burning One 4/nov./2018 às 6:28
I still throw gernades in air vents on hard mode
MONACO 4/nov./2018 às 6:32
Most of the times right now I am walking backwards in vents.

But Even With Helmet,Headcrab can still control gordon because in half life 2,as you can see headcrab can control a combine, but comebine wear a helmet, too. So maybe headcrab can destroy the helmet and this is a video game, thinking if everytime playing you just die instantly by a headcrab

If the helmet is thick enough like metal and combine helmets don’t look very metal to me they look kinda leathery

I don't know. If using a metal helmet would stop the headcrabs from turning it's host into zombies, then I doubt they would use leather helmets at all.

Every time you look at a zombie without the headcrab attached to it, their faces look slightly decomposed, even if they're been taken over recently. So maybe they have some sort of acid that they use when they clamp on a person, in order to kill them with little resistance.

The thing is combine aren’t really around headcrabs that much only when the citadel is falling apart other than that they only put them in capsules and use them for taking down resistant bases
