How headcrabs don't attach on Gordon's head?
Through the Half Life series, as we know and as we've seen, the headcrab leap for the host's head and then attaches on it, trying to break into the skull with its beak to reach the brain (i guess?) and take control of the host. But that doesn't happens to Gordon. I mean, most headcrabs manage to attach on the host's head easily with a single leap, but strangely, this doesn't happens to Freeman. They constantly leap for Gordon's face but don't attach to it. Even after Gordon is killed by a headcrab, it won't attempt to attach to Gordon's head (possibly because the host is dead and couldn't be controlled). Also, Gordon never wears a helmet, so how come they constantly hump his face and don't attach on it?

Because it would be rather annoying if every headcrab attack was an instant kill.

Maybe he does wear his helmet. I never understood why people think he doesn't; just because he took it off for the cinematic posters doesn't mean he never wears it in combat... How could he possibly see the Heads Up Display if he wasn't wearing his mask? It would explain the headcrab conundrum.

His model is not wearing it, although... You arent supposed to go in to third person. The HEV Suit that you get at the start of the game does not have a helmet, although i think the helmet comes out of it and over the user's head, or it just comes out of it and you have to put it on yourself...

Yes, I've put the game in third person and Gordon doesn't wears his helmet. You can also notice it in Opposing Force, when he's about to jump in the portal to Xen, he isn't wearing his helmet.

They don't latch on to your screen and start sucking for your brains is because you have coodies.

OR

You have no brains so they're not going to waste their time.

Well, right now, I think that they don't latch at Gordon's head because he possibly pushes them off as soon as they leap for his head.

either he has his helmet on or he blocks them with his arm

Well, I'm glad they don't insta-kill Gordon, otherwise this game would be a nightmare, specially with me, I get freaked out whenever I see a headcrab. Literally. I'm now scared of walking in vents because once I was playing this game and I got jumpscared twice by headcrabs in vents. And I almost stopped playing this game for one month, LOL.
Facehuggers did instakill you in Alien versus Predator (99). They were horribly scary.

Plus, I'm gonna have to go through Ravenholm in Half Life 2 now since I'm on the end of the chapter Black Mesa East, and there are poison zombies who almost insta-kill you (they reduce your HP to 1 if you don't know about them).

Well, I think I know the reason now. I was reading abou the HEV suit in the Half Life wikia and it says this.
"Headcrabs will never attempt to attach directly to Freeman's head either (although, in the official Half-Life manual, Freeman never allows a headcrab to attempt to)."

Because you have the most protective armor that any main character needs, plot armor.

Because Gordon is a pair of hands and a crowbar, he has no head
