when does this take place relative to half life 2 and the portal games, I know that portal takes place around the time the combine show up and portal 2 takes place 999999999999 days afterwards, but when does this fall into place

This is the very first game in the series, in terms of both when it was made and when it's set.
So all the other games in the series take place after this one.

Gordon's only 47 from a relative chronological standpoint. Physically and mentally, he's still 37, due to not aging at all while he was in stasis.

Nope, G-Man put him in stasis for years until he needed him. He was pretty much frozen in time in another dimension of some sort.
