"openGL video mode failed."

whenever I try to launch this game, I get this message;

Video mode change failure
The game has detected that the previous attempt to start in openGL video mode failed.
The game will now run in software mode.

After clicking "OK", the game stops attempting to launch. I've tried many launch options, but the only one that changes anything is "-soft", which skips the message and goes straight to the failed launch.

Try this in the launch optioms "-software -norm -windowed -w 800" no quote marks

i have a question about same this situation on Counter Strike : Condition-Zero , and idk how to fix it D:
anyone can help me ?
also i can't understanding this procces :

after long time i'm updated my gpu to the last version and then it's fixed, maybe it will helpful for other people.

Con estos parametros me entra a mi cs 1.6:-software -norm -windowed -w 800, pero lo intento cambiar a OpenGL y me tira el mismo error
