Unlike Zangetsu mode where you start off with everything and it is way too easy at the beginning (so I gave up on playing it after 10 minutes), Bloodless is much more interesting.
You don't start at the same place like Miriam and Zangetsu, you actually want to explore to get stronger and find new skills, and most importantly, there is a hard mode to begin with, so there is actually a challenge from the beginning.
Just one question though.
I play with Hori Fighting Commander, but since it doesn't have sticks, there is no L3/R3 buttons, so it is impossible to use Blood Steal on this controller.
Haven't found a way to change this in the settings, as R3 isn't mapped to anything, and while playing with Bloodless, I can only view the controls but can't change them.
Did anybody found a solution to this? I still can use my DS4, but was wondering if it possible on this controller as well.
Ain't got infinite MP btw, not sure how I can just spam.
Also, the speed demon's health pool is absurd. It's like they just pressed a random number generator on boss hp and it's completely out of wack how much HP these guys have now. Train died in no time, twin dragons were whatever, then this dude and the rainbow chicken are insane damage sponges for some reason. Why do the most mobile hard to hit bosses have the most health?
And Alfred the same story. Judging from how long it takes for him to bust out the obnoxious slow phase, he has like 4000hp? 90% of my play time is grinding attempts against the bosses to master the moveset of each boss fight so I can get the run where I can survive the endurance test the boss fights have become. The tweaking of enemy and boss hp bars is really haphazard and it's just urrrggghhh.
There is an upgrade that allows Bloodless to be able to go underwater. Thing is you have to get ANOTHER upgrade to be able to get that one.
In regards to your question about regular water being a weakness, I think it is supposed to be naturally running water. Something that supports life on its own. Thus a stream or a river or ocean or similar. Holy water would have a blessing on it and so it would be the blessing that hurts the vampire, not the water itself.
So a cup of tap water sitting in a cup would not hurt a vampire (and probably not water from a shower either)
The best pure vampires have primarily one weakness that doesn't also kill normal people: sunlight. Stuff like garlic or religious symbols are more for the not-so-serious-about-vampires crowd that consider them more of a joke. It's not a proper threat if spices and helpless people with sentimental objects can beat them. Such vampires would never be scary to me.
That said, for the game, it was a decent "excuse" to fetch another power-up, and Bloodless obviously is not a normal vampire anyway, so yeah.
I have not encountered either O.D. or Iga as bosses in Bloodless Mode. I believe the only way for the player to fight them is to fulfill their respective requirements in the main story. O.D's boss fight is normally unlocked by exploring the vast majority of the map and returning to his library. That is when the Tome of Conquest becomes available to borrow from him, which you'll need to fight him in the Glacial Tomb. As for Iga, he is the optional boss made available by Lindsay's DLC quest (the only purchasable DLC content so far). This quest can be accepted early on, but he is fought after Gebel I presume. As O.D. and Lindsay are not in Bloodless Mode, neither O.D. nor Iga can be fought against. Unless I am mistaken since I do not know how to unlock the two of them in Bloodless Mode myself.
Yeah a bit weird, I thought for sure they'd make her playable with her ability to use spells and stuff. :o Maybe they thought it'd be basically just the same as normal Miriam though.
