Any tips for killing the Carpenter?
I could beat Zangetsu but I don't seem to be able to defeat Carpenter at all. The room is so small I can't dodge properly. What does he even drop? Should I just come back and kill him later?

Use the directed shield whenever he throws stuff. Focus more on the demons when he summons them. He's slightly weak to light damage.

also use invert to take care of the summons at the top, bring healing items to help you out, does have quite a bit of health but I also thought was not possible but was able to still do it on the 2nd try.

The Carpenter has 6.666 HP. He has a 15% chance of dropping the [Chisel Barrage] shard, which is like a rapid fire projectile. Be sure to switch to your luck build before finishing him off. I also got an [Imbrued Bone] from him, which has a 12% drop chance. His other item drops I don't know.

Thanks! This almost feels like cheating lol :P I went from barely killing him using a ton of potions to killing him no problem without having to heal :)

My technique was to stand in his face, using the beast guardian to nullify his throws whilst wailing on him. Took damage when he walked in to me a couple of times but no biggie. This way seems to throw him of his standard routine. I kind of blocked his way and instead of chiseling forth a demon he instead jumped back against the saw, to his starting corner.

If you use the directional shield you can't attack at the same time. That's why I preferred beast guard in this fight.

Don't attack him when he's building something, he'll summon monsters if you interrupt him, once he finishes building he'll make a chest lol

I just spammed max R/G Giant Rats for perpetual DOT damage and wailed on him with my strongest weapon whenever I could.

The chisels are annoying since they're not telegraphed much and his aim isn't locked in until the last nanosecond so you have to keep moving.

By the way, anyone notice his table saw turns backwards?

Even though this is late but eh, you can Curse The Carpenter, makes the whole fight faster.
poison him, go to the ceiling, et voila.

you can also use standstill and stop his projectiles, if you combo this with warlock necklace with black belt for accessories, either the witches hat or pleiades for helm, over the rainbow scarf, for armor, i've gone for either tatenashi, or coronation gown for chest armor. and a maxed out Words of Wisdom shard from the archedemon, as well as max stack it to 9, shards i've used for attacking have been riga storæma, or summon hellhound at max level for conjure, manipulative has been standstill from Orlav Dracule or i use beast guardian. directed shield or ruinous rood for directional shard, and obviously maxed out words of wisdom shard max stack and level with skill activated, along with eternal blue greatsword with maxed out greatsword expertise skill being active, depending on what manipulative skill i have on, once i step past the doorway into the area i immediately hold the manipulative skill down, i use one of the conjure shards i've listed to the max usage but make sure to space it out as i use invert the first time still holding standstill or the beast guardian in effect, sliding my way to the other end of the room on the roof so the entire area has been covered with the conjure shard dependant on what i used, then i launch ruinous rood if i used standstill or if i used beast guardian direct shield so i can protect myself from any attempt of the chisels thrown at me, if i use a familliar it has to be silver knight or bloodbringer then from there i kinda play the strat as "peekaboo" xD

I use shadow tracer and wail on him and feast on food when I am low on HP. I can usually kill him in 5-6 seconds depending on crits. I am also using blue rose.

blast his face off

I hit him and he died. Seems to be the best strategy.
