what's the point of technique mastery?
I did it once to get get the achievement.

and then for spits and tickles, I tried mastering a few more weapon techniques

but

it doesn't seem to make a difference
the technique don't become any easier to pull off
they still do the same damage
and don't seem to use any less mp

what's the point..other than to give us something else to do? (like trying to master every single one of them)

It's as Visi said, once mastering a technique, you can use that same technique with others weapons of the same type

And the point to mastering ALL the techniques is to unlock the technique for the Valkyrie Sword. Which is down+down+attack. Makes you jump in the air and slash downward. I grinded so many weapons just for that.

It's best to wait until the endgame when you can take all the books and use Standstill to make the grinding much more bearable.

I just realized this just before coming back here to see the answer...
thanks for answering though, even though I figured it out on my own.
I discovered the answer by mistake actually, because I had a katana tech mastered already and when I switched to a different katana to master it's technique, I accidentally performed the technique I already mastered and was like . . . . huh?

It's actually to make you throw your xbox360 controller because the dpad is too crappy to manage the inputs. >>
Kyutaru Jun 30, 2019 @ 7:29pm
No one uses the D-pad for it because the game detects circle rotations much easier. Trying to key in the combo will fail often, just rotate the stick and it's smooth as silk.

Also, I knew Penetrate was OP. It's nearly full damage infinitely with high dmg spears.

I just wanted to 100% man, not learn Guilty Gear inputs at an EVO level. ; ;

I use keyboard.
I played Gothic. I played all DMC on keyboard. I play fighting games on it.

And you puny mortals can't input Atomic buster or Hadouken on a D-pad?

I'm pretty sure everyone can do a Hadoken, for at me at least it's just Orbital Wheel that's being a prick to properly input. Think it was left up right down X or something like that. The circular motion works maybe once in every thousand attempts.

Also, Gothic? That's old school as butts. :o

360 motion input is hard to do anyway. It doesn't really matter what type of control you use. One of my friends even has arcade stick and still can't do it regularly. You either get a grip of how you do it, or don't and keep practicing.

Also, hell yeah Gothic :)
One of my first games on PC and one of the best "open world RPG" games I played.

I play with the analog stick, but I switch to D-pad for techs. I just find it more precise.
