Codemaster Statement on FFB
Hi all,

Thanks for all of your feedback so far. Just to let you know, we're working on a patch to address some of the most pressing issues that have been raised here. As soon as I have notes on confirmed fixes, I'll share them with you ASAP.

We're also looking into FFB as a priority, as we're aware a lot of you have raised concerns about how this feels. However, we just want to make clear that there is no easy fix for this; anything we change will affect all vehicles, surfaces and peripherals, so we have to be very thorough to ensure any changes we make will be positive across the board.

Cheers,
Christina

Oh, yeah, there's some FFB now. (I have the old G27.) It actually works okay. Still, room for improvement, as I still cannot feel anything of this "degrading road surface" (what with deep grooves and so on), but other than that it is... fairly sensible, though somewhat vague. It just isn't impressive in a "WOAH, there's so much resistance" way, but you get enough information about what level of grip your car has to the surface to be quicker and more confident than things were without FFB.

And yeah, get it on sale. The brand new Scotland stages (and Colin McRae career thing) are actually quite good.

I am still baffled that the FFB was intended as it is. Anyone who tested and played before the release should be ashamed.

I totally agree. Codemasters has been making racing games for years so they should know better. And all the sellout youtubers that never warned us:steamsad:
scared it's gonna get ruined now. This is DiRT V1 EA to V2 all over again. The complainers will get their way and it'll be moon gravity physics all over again. Updates are about to get turned off. Want my version to stay as it is.

i can assure you that the new better DR2.0 physics will never go back like DR1.0, don't worry.

I would agree except that I don't think anyone is suggesting it is too easy or that the cars are on rails, simply that they would like more feedback in the ffb. At least I hope I'm right.

I just feel the weight of the wheel nothing else :/
noooooo can't turn off updates. At least at the moment I'm playing with "in game" FFB turned off, just using the Simxperience FFB on the Accuforce. Hopefully if the update is a backward step for me the foundation FFB based on telemetry will be unaffected

Interesting. How do you know that?

exactly, let the mouth-breathing controller users keep making assumptions about why we're complaining.

gaming communities as a whole need to stop supporting these reviewers. absolutely useless idiots.

Noob with a wheel - Just picked up entry level Thrustmaster TMX FFB wheel and I get all the complaints. No feel but the weight of the wheel as others have said. These hard core guys have every right to complain. Wheel transforms the whole experience and when you cannot get it right it just sucks. Like you are missing the game entirely. I had only a vague idea til I played with a decent one.

Let me add that I play(ed) every Dirt & GRID title and love everyone of them. And every single one of them has had, or STILL have bugs. Lot of money goes into this hobby - you could have done better Codemasters. I rarely pay opening day price for a game - but when we're talking Dirt or GRID, well that's different. Just short of $90 for the deluxe. Never again.

Also - these guys are notorious in my opinion in just never fixing things. Dirt 4 continues to crash randomly, GRID Autosport forgets settings ... And there is this slight frame hiccup in Dirt Rally (1st one) that drives me crazy in an otherwise joy at 150FPS on my rig.
I love these games - playing a long time. Waiting for fixes is getting very very old.

Graphics look very lousy on the levels with leaves when in the rain, quite nice in others.
I love it - I do. Now please fix it.
I'm 63 - I don't have forever -)

I think I missed something. Where does it say that FFB is working as intended? Can someone quote that part for me?
