We're sorry to hear you're having this issue.
If you use another set of headset/earhones does the issue still occur?
Please also try the following steps:
- Open your Windows Device Manager by opening the Windows Task Bar, type Device Manager in the search field, and press enter
- Expand the "Sound, video and game controllers" dropdown menu
- Right-click all devices and select "Update driver"
Additionally, delete the following folder: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\HLLL and allowing the program to regenerate the files might bring back VOIP.Note: after this, you do have to redo your Settings and Keybinds.
Make sure that your Windows time is set correctly.
Deactivate ASUS sonic studio and ASUS Armory Crate if this is used.
Disable IPv6:
If your router is using IPv6, we would recommend disabling that option. To do this please go to your router settings, find the IPv6 option (it usually can be found in advanced settings) then disable it.

So I only connected these new headphones yesterday, drivers are all upto date. I double checked and windows so they are all current.
I deleted that folder.
Windows time is accurate.
Am not using any ASUS.
Logged into router. Is running on IPv4
Read through that VIVOX list, not seeing anything.
-edit-
Headphones work flawlessly when disconnecting from VOIP
Thanks for your reply.
So the issues only started with the new headphones?
Do the issues occur with any other headphones?
Are you able to use a cable at all with the headphones or are they Bluetooth only?
If it is possible can you please test the issue with a cable?
Get back to us when you can.

Before this I was using my old beyerdynamic CUSTOM One Pro Plus wired headphones and was using WO MIC to connect to my phone to my PC as a microphone. Other people made fun of me for using WW2 technology to communicate. This solution however worked.
New headphones (Sony WH-1000XM4) comes with a cable but it only plugs into the audio out... So I can confirm that it functions as a wired headphone although unable to use microphone.
Any other ideas? I might try and see if Sony has drivers and try theirs. Although I doubt it's that as I can chat on discord et al with them just fine.
Cheers,
Rodger Dodger

Update did not resolve issue. Can only play by disabling VOIP ingame, but HLL without voice is just sad ;(
Thanks for your reply!
Can you please reset the default settings for Microsoft?
Type 'sound settings' into your windows search bar, then scroll down to advanced.
Then click 'reset' at the bottom.
Please make sure to have your game running and your headphones connected when doing this so that you can check the settings for input and output when doing the step.
Get back to us when you can.

Thanks for getting in touch.
Does the same thing occur on a different headset or is it just the JBL one you're using? Is this a Bluetooth headset?
Can you please confirm if you have tried all the steps sent prior in this thread?
We would also recommend making sure that your audio drivers are up-to-date:
- Type Device Manager into the Windows search bar and click the Device Manager entry in the search results
- In Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers
- Right-click on the audio card you want to update and select Update driver
- In the new window, select Search automatically for drivers
Get back to us when you can and let us know how you get on.Regards,
Team17 Support
This is not a driver issue, all drivers are up to date.
By disabling Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service in Windows, the issue is "resolved", but that service is responsible for Bluetooth input devices, so that way the headset's microphone is not working.
