We're sorry to hear you're having this issue!
We have some steps below that have helped players with this issue in the past so please do try these and let us know how you get on:
Could you please check the Task Manager to make sure that Hell Let Loose is closed? To open Task Manager press Ctrl + Alt + Del, then select Task Manager and look for Hell Let Lose. If it's on the list, righ-click and "End task". Then go back to Steam and try to open the game again.
If it is and the problem continues, it could mean that another program is using Easy Anti-Cheat.
(eg. Riot Games launcher is using EAC) Please make sure you don't have any EAC-related software running before you run Hell Let Loose.
If you're still receiving the same error, this can be due to running a game server in the background, such as Squad Server or Conan Server, or any other server hosting applications/games.
Please make sure to close those servers before opening the game.
Please also try completely deleting the EasyAntiCheat" folder:
To do this:
Right click on "Hell Let Loose" in your Steam library, select "Properties", go to "Local Files" and then click on "Browse..." and then delete the "EasyAntiCheat" folder.
Then, run Steam as an admin:
- Navigate to your Steam install folder (Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam)
- Locate the application
- Right-click it and go to Properties
- Click the Compatibility tab
- Check the Run this program as an administrator box
And once you’ve done this, please verify your game files:To do this:
- Right-click the game in your library
- Go to 'Properties'
- Go to the local files tab
- Click 'Verify integrity of game files...'
Attempt to run the game to see if the issue is resolvedIf nothing above works, you can try updating or uninstalling GeForce Experience if you have this installed.
Get back to us when you can!

May I ask a second question: some server that I join I just can't spawn.
The spawn counter for any post goes to zero and continues ticking until I just lost connection to the host. It's really odd because it only happens to some servers (it always happens a specific list of servers), eventhough when comparing my ping to others players I am not lagging?
Thanks for your reply.
We're glad to hear that the above steps resolved the original issue for you!
Are the servers you're experiencing the issue on ones that are further from your region/country?
We have multiple articles online that have many connection and server related steps, can you please try these?
They are as follows: (the errors are different however the steps are all relevant and may help)
- Lost connection to host[team17.helpshift.com]
- No compatible servers found[team17.helpshift.com]
- Host closed the connection[team17.helpshift.com]
We do hope this helps!Regards,
Team17 Support
