Hey there C0nFLicTEDbAdGER,

Thank you for reaching out, we're sorry you are experiencing "corrupt or invalid backend" message in Hell Let Loose.

Sometimes, EAC might get disabled or stop running for unexpected reasons or without you knowing. If you are receiving EAC errors or game crashes, we would recommend double-checking that your EAC is definitely enabled:
  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open your Run dialog
  2. Type in services.msc and press Enter
  3. Search for the EasyAntiCheat service and right-click it
  4. Select Properties
  5. Using the dropdown box, make sure the Startup Type is set to Manual - if it is already, we would recommend Disabling it and then repeating these steps to Enable it again
  6. Then restart your PC and retest Hell Let Loose again
If after trying the above steps, you find you are still receiving Easy Anti-Cheat errors, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling EAC:
  1. Open your Steam Library
  2. Right-click on Hell Let Loose and select Properties
  3. Select Installed Files
  4. Click on Browse
  5. Select the EasyAntiCheat folder and find the Easy AntiCheat installer file (EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe)
  6. Right-click on the EasyAntiCheat_setup.exe file and click on Run as Administrator
  7. If UAC (User Account Control) is prompted, click Yes to grant admin access
  8. Once the EAC window pops up, select Uninstall in the bottom-left corner of the window
  9. Then once it is uninstalled, select Reinstall in the same place
Once the Easy Anti-Cheat engine has been re-installed, reboot your computer and retest the game

Please let us know if the steps above resolve the problem or if you need further assistance.

Get back to us when you can.

Regards,

I received the same thing twice on two different servers, both playing Tobruk. My anti-cheat was set to manual already. I'll try the steps above, but it *shouldn't* be necessary - none of my other steam games are having issues.

Hey Awnold,

Thanks so much for reaching out! I’m really sorry to hear that you’ve encountered the same issue on two different servers while playing Tobruk. That must be frustrating, especially since your anti-cheat was already set to manual. I appreciate your patience as you work through it!

When you have a moment, could you please share your DxDiag information with us? It’ll help us get a better idea of the situation. Here’s how to do it:
  1. Press the Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type in dxdiag and hit OK.
  3. Click on "Save All Information."
  4. Choose Text File (*.txt) as the Save as type.
  5. Save the file as DxDiag.txt on your Desktop for easy access.
  6. Open that .txt file, copy all the contents, and paste them into a free text hosting service like https://justpaste.it/ or http://pastebin.com/.
  7. Finally, copy the link to your post and paste it into your reply.

Once we have that info, we’ll do our best to help you out!

Looking forward to hearing back from you!

Regards,
Team17 Support
