Can't hear myself in the Hell Let Loose microphone test, but others hear me in-game

I’ve encountered an issue: in Hell Let Loose settings, I can't hear my voice during the microphone test, but other players hear me on the server and complain that I’m hard to hear. Because of this problem, I’m not sure how to properly adjust my microphone. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thank you for reaching out, we're sorry you are experiencing issues with your mic in Hell Let Loose.

Please make sure that your microphone is set as the default communication device in your Windows settings, to do this:

1. Select the Start button, type Sound in the search box, and then select Sound from the list of results.
   
2. Choose Sound Control Panel from the Related Settings on the right.
   
3. On the Recording tab, select your microphone, then Set Default from the right-click menu.
