Black screen at the start of HLL
Hi everyone,

At first, sorry for my english level.
I play HLL since one year now, and this last 3 monts I have a black screen instantly after launching the game.

So I tried different things. After an "sfcscan" who had fixed some issues, no results. And the retrocompatibility with windows 10 ? Don't work. Easy Anti Cheat work well and my firewall is now just a foamwall after I authorized the entire world to have access to my life.
Evereything is up to date, graphic card and all the hardwares.
So, please, can someone help me ?
'Cause now my Youtube feed is pushing me to squad and I had recently the new Zelda's game, so HLL is now on the edge of the uninstall software, closer than ever before, looking at the horizon of billions of good moments past on this good game with a french community at the top 👌 (not every time, we all know).
Thanks for future answers.

Hey,

thanks for trying to find the answer at my crash.

After the "sfc /scannow" command, the process didn't find any issues, and all my system is update and on fire.
All the other games work, except HLL who just go on black screen and the start of the game with 2500 ips. I've tried to fix Easy Anti Cheat program too, but without good result.

I'm still exploring for more issues.

See you soon my new correspondent
i'm having the same issue. it started doing this about 4 hours ago and I've tried almost every form/youtube video i could find.

Hey @Venka///,

Thanks for getting back to us and confirming.

Due to the amount of Windows crashes that are showing on your DxDiag it seems like their could be an issue with your OS - could you please try reinstalling Windows 11 using the steps in this Official Microsoft article:
If the issue persists following this, could you please confirm if you are receiving any error messages when receiving the black screen after booting up Hell Let Loose? If so, could you please tell us what they say, exactly as they appear or provide a screenshot? :)

To take a screenshot, please make sure, that you have Steam Overlay enabled in your game.
  • Go to Steam -> Settings.
  • Click the In-Game tab.
  • Check "Enable Steam Overlay while in-game".
  • Go to Library.
  • Right-click on the game title and select Properties.
  • Under the General tab also make sure "Enable Steam Overlay while in-game" is checked.
In the game, press F12 to take a screenshot. Then press Shift+Tab to bring up the Steam overlay, and upload your screenshot - please make it public.

Then simply include the URL of your screenshot on the forum (it should look something like "http...sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=...").

Get back to us and let us know how you get on with this!

@RookSQD - Could you please pop us over your DxDiag information - you can do this by following the steps below:

  3. Click OK
  4. Click Save All Information
  5. Set the Save as type to Text File (*.txt)
  6. Save the file DxDiag.txt to your Desktop so it is easy to find.
  7. Open the .txt file, copy all the contents > Paste all the contents to a free text hosting service such as http://pastebin.com/

Hey Dev,

Here is the pastebin link: https://pastebin.com/Z6mmhqWc

Update: for 4 hours I've tried uninstalling, file repairs, updated, uninstalling/repairing EasyAntiCheat, and even turning off virus protection. nothing has worked. Going to try and clear out all files and see how that goes. Just a run down as to what happened, the screen was loading up with Team17 and just went black. This has happened twice to me this year. It should be noted, I was playing the game an hour before which worked perfectly.

Hey,

followed all the instructions and it worked! however, when I changed everything back and restarted the system. The game did not load right and I was stuck at the black screen again. I might start disabling each start up program one by one.

[update] it seems as if Voicemeeter is the root cause to this problem for me. When the program isn't on the game functions fine. Not sure as to way the program is the problem. Any suggestions?

Hey @RookSQD,

Thanks for getting back to us and confirming - we really appreciate it.

It does appear that Voicemeeter interferes with Hell Let Loose and can cause issues with both VoIP and the game itself.

We would highly recommend disabling the Voicemeeter software when you are playing Hell Let Loose to prevent further interference.

Please don't hesitate to reach out in the future should you have any further queries.

Hello!

I also just ran into this issue. I already tried the clean boot with no success and I want to be sure it's nothing else before I go through the hassle of reinstalling Windows 11. Here's my DxDiag info: https://justpaste.it/bp4l7

Thanks in advance!

Hey bud,
Try to disable any running software one by one before reinstalling windows. Its a long process but much faster then installing a window. For me it was a software issue with my audio program...
