I had the same issue after the UPDATE 9, at last I discovered that the Mic mute function in my keyboard was activated, I passed these 2 days giving orders to the air, wondering why the crew of my tank was doing anything else of what I was saying and not replying back
It does this; the service fails. All games that use Vivox voice comms have issues with VOIP cutting out or not working at all.
Most games that use Vivox get by because you are talking about shooters like Fortnight, and RTS games, turn based things etc. For those games it's fine to have Vivox break, because in those games you are usually only playing in a group with your close mates, and communication beyond your private discord is of no importance.
HLL on the other hand, we need to communicate to many different people on different channels, so when it breaks, it totally ruins the game.
Changing squad confuses Vivox, I assume something to do with reorganizing our channels mid game.
When Vivox is actually working, we don't have these issues. But inevitably here we are again. I don't know if the updates are breaking it, or if the company Vivox is dragging its heels.
Anyway, I came back for the garrison changes, now I'm off again because of the voip.

Sorry to hear you're having this issue.
The team is aware of issues with VoIP and is looking into this as a priority.
In the meantime, you can try the following solutions:
Leaving the server and getting back into another one should help with the VoIP issues.
- Open your Windows Device Manager by opening the Windows Task Bar, type Device Manager in the search field, and press enter
- Expand the "Sound, video and game controllers" dropdown menu
- Right-click all devices and select "Update driver"
Additionally, deleting the following folder: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\HLLL and allowing the program to regenerate the files might bring back VOIP. (Don't verify the files, just reload the game)Note: after this, you do have to redo your Settings and Keybinds.
If the game can't detect a microphone
Please make sure that your microphone is set as the default communication device in your Windows settings.
- Select the Start button, type Sound in the search box, and then select Sound from the list of results.
- Choose Sound Control Panel from the Related Settings on the right.
- On the Recording tab, select your microphone, then Set Default from the right-click menu.

I wish this default response worked for me.
Everything is updated and already set as default to work with other games.
It doesn't matter if I join only one squad, or leave and join another.....my mic does not work in this game. My mic works in literally every other game I play....no matter if it requires my mic to be the default, or if I can choose the audio input.
It's the game.
How I can keep supporting such an awesome game with such a Critical issue?
when I got the issue of connection to void (random like...), I launch a VPN... and HLL reconnect my VOID.
Nobody seems to know why it works...
