Launch Error: The Requested Operation Requires Elevation.

So I have been playing this game forever and have never experienced this issue. In fact, 5 days ago I played a round just fine and it's great to see the progress being made. As of now I am unable to even launch the game anymore. Like I said, it worked just fine the other night, nothing has changed on my system except the routine windows updates. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, double checked permissions on the exe files, particularly the Launch_HLL.exe, HLL.exe and HLL-Win64-Shipping.exe. I even went as far as to set the owner as my system account and all it results in is the game being caught in a never ending launch loop.

I only use windows default security/antivirus and have went as far to assign exclusions via windows security settings. Right now I am also suspecting that a recent windows update might be causing this which would be KB5005611 or KB5005539. These two updates were installed on October 10th a day after I had played this game without any issues on October 4th. Perhaps others are experiencing the same issue?

Unfortunately I don't have a solution, but I'm also facing this problem. Hope someone finds a way around it though...

Edit - I did find a solution: Close Steam and run as admin when you relaunch it

same issue but Run as Admin, works on steam then launching HLL. This has to be a issue way before windows updates for October 2021. I have tried both solutions using before updates/after updates for Steam Runs as Admin. HLL works but this issue needs to be solved ASAP

Glad I'm not the only one... will try the closing of steam to see it works. Will have to reinstall the game again though.

let me know if reinstalling the game works. thats one thing i haven't tried
