Similar to what was going on the past few updates.
Right now, if I get into a match, I have to spam click my squad chat button until it works while I'm waiting to deploy. Local and squad work fine while I'm deployed and moving around, but once I die and go back to the map, I have to spam the squad chat button again.
And my Command chat button does nothing.
I've gone through my audio settings, verified files, and tried other games out, and I'm only seeing problems with HLL.
Kind of annoying, maybe they need to ditch their VOIP provider and look for something that actually works.
Sorry to hear you're having VoIP issues.
Let's try the following:
Leaving the server and getting back into another one should help with the VoIP issues.
- Open your Windows Device Manager by opening the Windows Task Bar, type Device Manager in the search field, and press enter
- Expand the "Sound, video and game controllers" dropdown menu
- Right-click all devices and select "Update driver"
Additionally, deleting the following folder: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\HLLL and allowing the program to regenerate the files might bring back VOIP. (Don't verify the files, just reload the game)Note: after this, you do have to redo your Settings and Keybinds.
If the game can't detect a microphone
Please make sure that your microphone is set as the default communication device in your Windows settings.
- Select the Start button, type Sound in the search box, and then select Sound from the list of results.
- Choose Sound Control Panel from the Related Settings on the right.
- On the Recording tab, select your microphone, then Set Default from the right-click menu.

EDIT: And part way through the same match local voice chat stopped working. This doesn't seem to be an issue on my end.
EDIT: Something I noticed under the Microphone Privacy settings is it shows apps that use the mic, and when they last used them, and will indicate when the mic is in use by an app, when the mic is working in HLL it'll display that the mic is being used, however in the middle of games it'll drop, and will instead indicate when it was last used. Something is causing the game to lose its connection to the mic, but I'm not quite sure what the cause could be, literally everything else that I've tested is working fine with my mic so far, HLL is the only outlier.
I should also mention again that the issue isn't my ability to communicate ceasing entirely, I will get matches where voice chat will work in unit and local, but not leadership, or I'll get matches where I can talk in local but not unit, or vice versa, I feel if the issue was on my end, then voice chat wouldn't work at all.
Something i noticed while playing, voice chat was working normally, then like I described, it stopped working mid match, couldn't hear or talk to anybody on any channel, and I noticed under audio it showed me as disconnected from VOIP, I hit connect and it was working again.
Now, more often than not lately, voice chat just doesn't work as soon as I start a match, however it still shows me as connected to VOIP, hitting disconnect does nothing, it'll say "Disconnecting..." for a couple minutes, but not actually disconnect me.
We're sorry to hear you're having this issue with VoIP.
Please can you go through the steps in our dedicated VoIP help article[team17.helpshift.com] to see if they help at all?

Thank you for trying those steps for us.
In certain cases, adding the executable file of the EAC service to the whitelist of your antivirus/firewall or Windows Defender software can resolve multiple issues. Please could you make sure the following files are added:
- HLL.exe - Steam\steamapps\common\Hell Let Loose
- HLL_BugReportUploader.exe - Steam\steamapps\common\Hell Let Loose
- HLL-Win64-Shipping.exe - Steam\steamapps\common\Hell Let Loose\HLL\Binaries\Win64
- EasyAntiCheat.exe - Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat
- EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe - Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hell Let Loose\EasyAntiCheat
- Launch_HLL.exe - Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hell Let Loose
To do this on Windows Defender, please press the Windows key + I to open your Windows Settings. Then:- Go to 'Privacy & Security' and select 'Windows Security'
- In Windows Security, click on 'Virus & Threat Protection'
- Under 'Virus & Threat Protection Settings' click on 'Manage Settings' under 'Virus & Threat Protection'
- Scroll down to the 'Exclusions' section and click on 'Add or remove exclusions'
- Click on 'Add an exclusion' and choose the type of exclusion you want to add (File, Folder, File Type, or Process)
- Choose 'File' and then 'Browse' and select the file you want to exclude
- Add the above files suggested and then confirm your selection - these will now be added to your Exceptions
• Please note: if you are using a third-party anti-virus software, the steps for this will be different and we would recommend referring to your manufacturer's instructions on how to add exceptions.Get back to us when you can!
