I feel like crying:

Just updated my BIOS from F42a to F60c (Auros x470), still no joy.

Full disclosure, I updated my graphics card from RX 590 to an RX 5700 XT, I didn't get this issue before, but I only have 34 hours and 12 of those were with this issue.

Tried with OC BIOS on
Tried with Silent Mode on
Tried on lowest graphical settings
Watched my resources in Task Manager and nothing peaks at the time of the crash (max 75% on GPU)
Tried logging legit ticket, but had no response.
Tried multiple reinstallations on multiple HDD's/SSD's
Tried crying myself to sleep
Tried running Steam in admin mode coz im reaching
Tried adding all relevant exe to AV
Tried disabling AV
Tried empty servers
Haven't tried Post Scriptum yet (jk)
Tried resintalling GPU drivers Datestamped 13/11/20
Can seem to force the error by loading Caretan
Tried -dx12

**As soon as I join a game, this appears in event viewer:
Failed with 0x57 retrieving AppModel Runtime status for package Windows.**

So, good news, I got it working! But I'm not sure why or how.

I reinstalled back onto my C drive (boot drive) and tested, which had the same error. I then validated the files and tested, which still didn't work. Then I did some light reading...

Now this is the weird bit, for some reason, I went into the HLL\Binaries\Win64 and double clicked the shipping.exe file out of frustration. It threw some error.

Now, I did nothing else but validated files again and it said '1 file could not be verified so it will be reacquired' or something to that affect, and basically, now it works!

All of the 'validate files' I did, it never once showed this error. I hope this helps you diagnose the problem, even though there's not much to go on.

This was a few days ago so I wanted to test a good few games, but here we are, all fixed.

Hi AndyIO,

Thanks for sharing your dxdiag and the error.

Could you please verify your game files:
  1. Right-click on the game in your Steam Library, choose Properties, switch to the Local Files tab and press Verify integrity of game files...
  2. Attempt to run the game to see if the issue is resolved
This error can also mean memory failure or overheating, so please could you run a memory test on your computer?

Can you please try removing this folder: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Hell Let Loose\HLL\Content\Paks

And then restart the game.

Let's also make sure there are no windows updates to do:
  1. Select the Start button
  2. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update
  3. Select Check for updates
  4. Install any updates that are shown
  5. Once this is done, test the game
Get back to us when you can.

Regards,
Team17 Support.

I had this error as well, after checking the PC I noticed that a cable was preventing the cpu-fan from working, so the cpu got heated and HLL got problems.

Same issue here, validation of the game files fixed it for me, thanks for the hint
