Black screen when opening the game | UE4-HLL Crash
Overview:
- Just bought the game. Opened it up, saw the launching screen, loading bar of Easy Anti Cheat loaded completely, it opened a black window (the game) but all I saw was black. I could hear the noises of the videos I suppose I should've seen, then the main theme of the game (i suppose). But all of this in a black screen. After 2 minutes waiting, Unreal Engine Crash report telling me that I had an UE4-HLL crash. Filled the report and sent it.

Steps:
- Launch the game.
- Wait a while.

Result:
- Game crashing

Expected:
- The game I suppose?

OS:
https://justpaste.it/5sv9r

Things I did:

First of all I checked the integrity of the game files, twice before deciding to reinstall, twice after that. Updated what I could from the Windows Update Center, reinstalled after doing so. Checked my drivers, all up to date.

Searching I found that I should add an x at the end of the movie files's names, did it, didn't worked. ALso I saw that deleting the carpet movies should work, did it, didn't worked. Restarted my pc everytime I made a change. Nothing.

The crash report said this:

LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 1155] GameThread timed out waiting for RenderThread after 120.00 secs

HLL_Win64_Shipping
HLL_Win64_Shipping
HLL_Win64_Shipping
HLL_Win64_Shipping
HLL_Win64_Shipping
HLL_Win64_Shipping
kernel32
ntdll

If I can't do anything before two weeks passing, or the two maximum hours of playing, I'd have to return the game and get the money back, so I'll wait for your answer before trying anything again.
I was hyped to have it, I'm a battlefield fan and after seeing this game I really wanted to give it a try :/

Hi again.

I've done everything you've adviced me:

- Updated windows version. (20H2)
- Installed latest (optional) drivers (Radeon 20.11.2)
- Checked all the executables were in my firewall list (they are all)
- Reinstalled the game
- Run it as an administrator (both the game and steam)
- Verified
- I opened only with the ethernet conection attached to my pc

But the problem remains the same, I open the game, the easy anticheat lancher screen loads, black screen opens then, I hear the videos, then the main music, all black, 2 minutes in it freezes and UE4-HLL crash window pops up.

After trying twice, I tried the online recomendations of
- Change the name of the movie files by adding an x at the end (It skipped the sounds and It went straight to the main theme, but all in a black screen. I shut it because I knew it was crashing)
- Deleting the movies carpet (same)

I don't know what else to do :(

Thanks in advance

UPDATE:

After installing a program to search more actualizations, and downloading them, I restarted the PC and I could enter the game, seeing all the animations, the first screen that tells me that this is a game in development and after I pressed dismiss I could see my character.

So I had to update everything in the end.

Thanks a lot, sorry for the bother.

I hope to enjoy the game. If I have any other issue, i'll make another post.
