EAC preventing load and issue with normaliz.dll
Hi, i hope you can help I have a problem that has come out of nowhere this morning.

Essentially I cant load HLL and I know it's a problem with EAC which is reporting an issue with normaliz.dll

When loading HLL i get a long pause then, eventually the below message first comes up.

HLL-Win64-Shipping.exe
The application was unable to start correctly OxC0000007b
Click to close the application

Then

Untrusted system file (C:\Windows\System32\normaliz.dll) and the game fails to load.

What I have done:

Verified game files
Deleted cache
Windows is up to date
Uninstalled and reinstalled EAC
Reinstalled HLL game
Virus Scanned Computer
Ran sfc /scannow which reported no issues
Installed and Repaired EAC.

With nothing working I did delete the EAC Certificate folder, this did work until HLL kicked me out.

Any ideas? a host of my pals have bought HLL on my recommendation, but now I cant play.

Many thanks

Greetings RoyalGreen,

Sorry to hear that you are having this issue - let's try some more EAC troubleshooting steps to see if they help to solve your issue:

Windows Driver Signature Permissions

  1. Press Start(Windows) button
  2. type cmd in the search or Run box, press "Enter"
  3. in the command prompt enter these lines:
bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF , press "Enter"

bcdedit -set NOINTEGRITYCHECKS OFF , press "Enter"
  4. Reboot your PC in order to apply the changes.
  5. Click on the Windows icon and type 'command', and open Command Prompt as an administrator. Then type the following lines:

    netsh winsock reset
    ipconfig /flushdns

  6. Then reboot your PC
  7. Retest

Windows Services
  1. Press the Windows Key, type "Services" and click on "Run as Administrator"
  2. In here, locate "EasyAntiCheat", right-click and select "properties"
  3. Under the General tab, change "Startup type" to Automatic
  4. Press Apply, then OK and retest

EAC Network Access
Ensure you can access our Content Distribution Network by following these links.
  1. https://download.eac-cdn.com/
  2. https://download-alt.easyanticheat.net/
You should see the message: '200 - HTTP OK'

Whitelisting/Excluding Hell Let Loose

Depending on your current installed anti-virus, please add Hell Let Loose to the expectations list, for example:

Avast[support.avast.com]
AVG[support.avg.com]

Stop all unnecessary background applications

As the title suggests, please close every application that is not needed and retest.

Thank you very much for your suggestions, I went through every step exactly as you described in the order you described and had no luck.

Although it did now decide to complain about dsound.dll. So I tried another copy of this specific DLL from a mate and still no luck.

I can access the distributution network.

I uninstalled Origin
I uninstalled Malware bytes too.
HLL is whitelisted through the remaining Windows Firewall.
All background apps are closed and as many services as possible are closed.

It does take a few minutes before it returns the error message.

All other games work and this issue has come out of nowhere. Including Witcher 3 and Bannerlords 2.

If I delete the certificates folder in EAC, the game will load. It will fall over a few mins
with the anticheat time out. But this test gives me some confidence it's the EAC opposed to the game. So no change, other then it complains about a different DLL.

But stumped really.

Desperate to play i reinstalled Windows, and it works again. Don't know what caused the problem, perhaps the installation of Adobe Creative Cloud. Now got to get the Windows installation up to scratch.

Hi, I solve this.
I use "Equalizer APO" with "Peace Equalizer, interface Equalizer APO".
It's an equalizer for the headphones and sound on windows.
Sometimes with a new windows updates it don't work and the game don't launch.
Error : "0xc000007b" and "untrusted system file C\windows\system32\normalize.dll"
From anticheat I guess.
Solve it by uninstall those two software and install them again with lastest update, or sometimes just uninstall them and wait for an update :(
